The pattern includes directions for
both the 19" cotton batting snowman and wool felt Santa
Claus. Thread elastic through calico or homespun
tubes and tack on as their arms and legs. Sitting
around anywhere, they can be posed in many different
ways or you can wrap or tie them to slender uprights
such as step rails, lamp bases, etc.
A very cute
27" raggedy that can be made up for any holiday.
She's shown here in a Valentine's Day print. I
made several with tea-dyed dresses from a calico with a
white background and big green shamrocks. I
painted the stripes on her legs orange, green and white
and laced the shoes with several strands of black
embroidery floss, wrapped the ends of the floss around
her ankles and turned her into an Irish stepdancer for
St. Patrick's Day. One of the unique features
about this doll is that she has traditional yarn hair
that is adorned with little girls' barrettes, ribbons
and pony tail holders. For this doll, I used some
of the barrettes and ties that I still had hanging
around from when my girls were little. Three sizes of hearts are
included with the pattern to use as bowl fillers or to
make a simple yet elegant primitive candle lamp basket
as shown in the photo.
Is he hiding or is he looking for an
item in the bottom of his sack or did Rudolph just get
fed up to his antlers and stuff the old man in there?
Whatever the story, it's a cute 16" weighted and
whimsical piece for the Christmas season. Another
of my daughter Revere's patterns (which kinda tells you
how her mind works, lol!)
