This 15" snowman made from Warm &
Natural holds a bag of sweet treats. Perfect
addition to the dessert table during the holidays.
Fill his bag with cinnamon sticks and pieces from a
candy garland. Finish him with a coating of mica
flakes and pile up some wrapped peppermint wheels and
hard candies around his base as a special treat for the
kiddies. :-) |

These are unique little fellows that
can hang on the tree or in the window or can be added to
a wreath. They're easy to make from Warm & Natural
cotton batting -- just layer them over fat polyester
quilt batting, trim and turn right side out. The
appliqués are ironed on and if you like you can do a
primitive stitch around the appliqués with floss for a
nice prim touch. The special touch is in the 3-D
that is added to the scenes -- real birdseed and Spanish
moss. Finish them with a bit of textured snow and
mica flakes for a really great look.

The pattern includes directions for
both the 19" cotton batting snowman and wool felt Santa
Claus. Thread elastic through calico or homespun
tubes and tack on as their arms and legs. Sitting
around anywhere, they can be posed in many different
ways or you can wrap or tie them to slender uprights
such as step rails, lamp bases, etc. |

Lol, after I finished up the model for
this pattern, I set it on the coffee table and tried to
come up with a name for the pattern. I wanted a
pattern name that had something to do with the
relationship between the two snow folks. The whole
family chimed in with a ton of hokey names but none
seemed quite right so I figured a good name would just
show up like one usually does. Well it did show up
very shortly thereafter. I do most of my pattern
drafting on my laptop and after everyone else went to
bed I put on the headphones, fired up Musicmatch Jukebox
and ran one of my favorite playlists which included I
Melt With You by Modern English while I edited the
pattern instructions. Well, that was it, the
perfect name for a pattern for a loving snow couple. The two snow folks are made from Warm &
Natural cotton batting and are glued together. The
mini tree is tied or wired to the back of the snow lady
so the whole thing displays as a single piece measuring
14" tall. For
the last couple of years I've been using sets of 20 mini
lights on the trees and giving the snow couple a nice
coating of mica flakes. They turn out awesome and
I guess customers like them this way as well as I
haven't had any leftover after craft show season. :-)

This pattern makes a goodly sized
snowman made from Warm & Natural and measuring 19" tall.
Weight his base with kitty litter. Scour the yard
for some good dried branches and glue them to Francis'
bottom front. Add some cuttings from a pine
garland, dried green moss, mini pine cones, red berries
and mushroom birds to complete his wintry look.
